Announcing Microsoft Teams

I’m excited to announce the preview of Microsoft Teams!

Today we publicly announced the preview of Microsoft Teams, a chat-based workspace in Office 365.  Microsoft Teams is an entirely new experience that brings together people, conversations, content, and the tools teams need to collaborate and achieve more together.

Microsoft Teams is a digital translation of an open office space. One that fosters easy connection and conversation to help people build relationships and work together. It makes work visible, integrated, and accessible across the team keeping everyone connected.

The way people work together is evolving, and unique projects, workstyles, functional roles and workforce diversity call for a complete set of collaboration tools. Office 365 offers a full set of solutions, including Office 365 ProPlus, Outlook, Yammer, SharePoint, Skype and now, Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams provides a modern threaded persistent chat experience that builds on Office 365’s group infrastructure, global scale, enterprise grade security and graph driven intelligence.  Familiar Office apps are all integrated and available from within your Microsoft Teams workspace and you can customize and add your personality to your team with cool emojis, GIFs & stickers ;-).

Check out this 2 minute video to learn more, and hear what some of our early beta customers think about Microsoft Teams.

Remember, your feedback is essential to making Microsoft Teams successful. Click  Feedback in the lower left of the app to share and up-vote your and others’ ideas.

So get your team together, and click the button below to get started!  You can also catch the Microsoft Teams demo in Satya’s monthly Q&A webcast tomorrow.  I also encourage engineers at Microsoft to explore the rich ways to integrate bots and services into Teams at
