Recent advances in web technology are enabling more people to create and share media. Jennifer Lin, Mat Scales and Peter Shin cover some of the new APIs available that make this possible on the web. In addition, the Instagram team go through their experiences using some of these APIs to rebuild their mobile web experience, making it easier for people in emerging markets to share their experiences on Instagram. I see a lot of progress when it comes to pictures and video but what about audio? is there any work done on that end. At the moment, I am working on audio PWA which allows people to make short newscast from their smartphone but it looks like the quality of audio recording that can be done from the browser is inferior to the quality of audio are recorded natively from the same phone. Can you please share here if there is any upcoming features(or existing features) which allow making HQ audio recording from the browser?
