Wait, wait, wait.. You're telling me that this 1000$ Laptop is for students ?! With tuition, text books, rent, etc… I don't think any student can afford it. Like the Surface pro 4, same deal

support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4020089/windows-10-s-faq open the second question, literally the first point says you can't install non Store apps which is basically Windows RT. Also I work in education and I can see through this as a cheap version of windows that actually does not serve any purpose to a school that has their IT infrastructure in any sort of working order. You cannot even join domains with these things. Also what school relies only on Store apps? This version of Windows is stupid and and you should not bother with it.

This is made for schools. Schools need security. You can also download centennial apps (Win32 apps in the store). Upgrading is 50 dollars.Do your research.

Not its not RT! 10s can run win32 apps but need administrator permissions to install them, 10S(s implies Student)

I want everyone to know that this $1000 device does not run Windows 10 Home/Pro. It instead runs Windows 10 S, which is a version of windows that can only install programs from the Microsoft store.

Schools would likely get a contract with Microsoft that would include very reduced prices

a. you can upgrade for 50 dollarsb. it can run Win32 apps that developers upload to the store.c. this is meant for education. it doesn't matter, anyway
