Is 2gb ram good enough to run ubuntu in virtual machine? I have 4gb of ram on my pc btw. Will it run smoothly on my pc (without opening any programs alongside virtualbox). Tnx

You'd be better off dual booting

I am currently running Ubuntu 17.10.1 on my laptop having 4 GB ram for 1 month. I have allocated 2 GB of them for Ubuntu in VirtualBox. However, Ubuntu is not running as smooth compared to windows. But to me, it is OK. And I think we should not compare the performance with windows since it is like "a child of child" of Windows when we installed it on VirtualBox.
After installing Ubuntu, my windows performance remains same as before.
